Repurposing Your leftovers to make a Beautiful Dish
We had 2 Holiday meals back to back. First the feast I made for Christmas and then New Years.
Food safety states that you can save most foods in a refrigerator safely for 7 days ( some only 4 but most 7)
So since Christmas was exactly a week from New years.. the two merged.
Some of it of course had to be placed in freezer bags and frozen. The great thing about cooking with fresh good ingredients is that when you reheat them or defrost them they still taste DELICIOUS. That is always my endgame when I cook. Since I usually cook and then store what my family doesn’t eat when I create my content for you guys.
Todays Breakfast was delicious and quick and easy incorporating my leftovers. The poached egg was fresh. The steak was from the XMAS tenderloin and had been properly and safely stored and was still both delicious and TENDER.
So first things first reheat your items.
Then add first to the plate a layer of fresh cold greens ( I used Baby Spinach)
Then I added the Black eyed peas, Iima bean and corn mixture from New Years
Next drizzle with Spicy Sweet Horseradish Mustard sauce’
Then place the steak in center
Then take a measuring cup to create your rice mold and place that on top of th steak gently so you don’t ruin the shape.
Next add your Poached egg gently so you don’t break it
Drizzle more Spicy Sweet Horseradish Mustard sauce
Top with Parsley Flakes
and there you have it.. a fancy beautiful brunch meal from leftovers!
A good Chef wastes nothing!
