Jerk Chicken with Nutella Waffles
Jerk Chicken and Waffles with Nutella and Sweet Ricotta waffles
Hello, looking for a great way to dazzle your guest?
This just may be it.
For the waffle recipe itself (the batter) I used one offline. It was my first time
making waffles from scratch so I needed some guidance first time. I think I have it
down now and can tweek in the future to make it more my own.
Just google waffles from scratch and you will find some good ones.
The most unique part of the process is definitely beating the egg whites till they become
frothy and like a firm cloud and then folding them into the mix. That step is important. It
makes your waffles light and fluffy and gives them more height. So do it properly.
The ingredients you’ll need for this dish:
Confectioners sugar
Sugar
Egg Yolks (2)
Egg whites (2)
All purpose flour
baking powder
butter
Cinnamon
Peanut Butter
Karo syrup
Nutella
Apple cider vinegar
Chocolate Chips
Ricotta Cheese
Milk
Salt
A waffle iron
Jerk Seasoning
Chicken
Pepper
I created my own Peanut Butter glaze with Peanut butter, 2 caps of cider vinegar, sugar and karo syrup and just a little water to loosen
it. Then wisk wisk wisk till its a silky, smooth, pourable dressing for the chicken and waffles.
To make the ricotta sweet, cook it in a saucepan and add sugar to your taste. Mix well and let cook for about 15-20 min while stirring.
How to layer your waffles:
Once you have cooked your Chicken(always cook the longest to cook item first) and your waffles (Till golden brown)
You can begin the stacking process.
Here is the order:
Waffle
Nutella
Sweetened Ricotta
waffle
Nutella
Sweetened Ricotta
Waffle
Nutella
Sweetened Ricotta
POUR ON THE PEANUT BUTTER GLAZE SAUCE
Then your Nice large piece of fried Jerk Chicken
Then top with a heavy drizzle of Karo Syrup
Sprinkle on your confectioners sugar!
Start at top of stack and just let your mini chocolate chips rain all over the plate.
I garnished the plate with a pan roasted sliced exotic mini citrus fruit I got at the Buford Farmers Market here in Atlanta.

Next up tomorrow I will be cooking short ribs, egg filled ravioli and greens. I know kind of a unique mixture but that is what I am craving and that
way it’s something for everyone lol.
Enjoy!
