How did you say goodbye to 2020!
Whew Chile…I think we are all so happy to be rid of 2020. My family and I were blessed that we actually remained pretty safe and prosperous but I know that 2020 could have really been a year of gains and growth if Covid hadn’t of changed the world. 2020 was a year full of racial tensions and tragedies. A reminder that the more the world changes the more it stays the same. I hope that in 2021 we all begin to heal, both health wise and in how we treat each other as human beings regardless of race, sexual orientation or beliefs. There is one race. It is the HUMAN race. Even if we are different at the end of the day, we are more alike than anyone could ever admit. Everyone is so worried about politicizing being human, or conspiracy theories or being WOKE. The problem is the highest form of being woke isn’t teaching exclusion or hate or supremacy. Its uniting in love the way God or whatever deity and faith you practice expects you to. Its doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. That is really being “woke”.
On to how my New Years was. It actually was the best one in a long time. I would have love to have been out but me and my partner of almost 13 years now, dressed up as if we were going out. Got some great drinks , turned on the Ball drop on Tv and DJ’ed our own party with candles in our bedroom with Alexa and Echo. My 15 yr old and I chilled while I cooked till about 8:30 pm. We had our silly crowns and honker horns.
Here are the Culinary Delights we enjoyed.

#goodbye2020
Black eyed peas, Lima beans and corn cooked in bacon.
Served over colorful rice
Homemade loaded GROUND BEEF nachos topped with homemade salsa and homemade quacks and store bought sour cream and black beans
Homemade fruit cobbler
And poached pears baked inside little pastry blankets in my special Cinnamon, brown sugar, butter and molasses sauce.
We are still snacking on these items lol.
From my family to yours.. Have a great and prosperous 2021! Let nothing stand in your way!
CHEERS!
